《Two-way communication》 is a visual collection of Movana Chen's work that covers early works such as her magazine dress knitted from 60 pages of magazine to her recent works such as her body sculptures. This book also invites you to share Chen's experience of using magazine as her creative medium.
An installation exhibition and Book Launch will perform in IFC PALACE café.shop on 11th April 2008.
In this exhibition, Movana Chen focus “body container” sculptures and an on-going “dialogue dress” is to examine the relationship between clothes and the media, and our consumption of disposable commodities. Through knitting these hinder symbolic multi-languages magazines, we learn about communication. It creates an alternative way of reading and exploring art as a dialogue between visual languages and the viewers. Chen believes it is also a new way to appreciate different cultures. She want to explore different ways to “wear” one’s identity, to experiment and play with it, and create new opportunities for different cultures and identities, and begin the communication between each other.
(Exhibition Period: 11th – 27th April 2008)
