    找書中的顏如玉。4月份，｢雙妹嘜舞蹈劇場｣獲康樂及文化事務署委約創作｢香港故事｣系列之《十宰身體慶團緣》，手腳
   並用笑談女性身體的美麗與哀愁，今回由劇場移師書店，承接上次演出的獨特視覺，邀請你繼續｢閱讀｣身體。

     Who is Yan Ruyu (pretty woman)? Where is she? Among books? Well, does she really exist? Is she beautiful? Does
    she wish to be beautiful? Local modern dance troupe McMuimui Dansemble, consists of Abby Chan and Yeung
    Wai-mei, is in search of the legendary Yan Ruyu at kubrick--the dancers have been told that Yan Ruyu exists in books
    as a symbol of success and fortune. With their acclaimed new work Flesh Dance premiered in April at the Cultural
    Centre as an attempt to examine the female body, McMuimui Dansemble will transform kubrick into another site of
    exploration to discover the never-ending myths and mysteries of the human flesh.

August 八月 - Maggie Fu + Terry Tsui + Kenneth Fong

       傅珮嘉(Maggie Fu) 出生於中國北京，前香港女歌手，曾用藝名高雪嵐，會作曲和填詞，也是一位十級鋼琴高手。現為
         香港作曲家、填詞人及作家。

       bma 2008重點新人Terry徐浩邦，前V>組合的主音歌手，擅長結他、打鼓，曾於加拿大參加歌唱比賽獲得冠軍，對音樂充滿
       熱誠的新一代唱作歌手。

      方樹樑，一位寫過上200首流行曲的創作人。對他來說，音樂就是生活，將生活的一點一滴化為旋律和音樂過程艱巨、徬徨、
      興奮、失落、焦慮、滿足、榮慾……彷彿穿過七情六慾的試煉，認真過癮，於是生活也就是音樂！

       Maggie Fu, former Hong Kong singer who born in Beijing, China, used to have a screen name Ko Suet Nam. She

      Terry Tsui, BMA Records’ new talent and former lead vocal from group, ‘V’, also good at playing guitar, drums. He
      is the next singer/songwriter with passion.

      Kenneth Fong, who writes over 200 pop songs, lives his life through music and transforms his daily life into melody and
     music. Though making music has to get by some tests and treats – anxiousness, stress, anguish, excitement and
     satisfaction..., he believes that music is life and it’s amazing to live through it!

August 八月 - ROM

       有感而發，第一首作品"London is falling down..."是寫於2005年7月倫敦大爆炸後。
       ROM是電腦名詞唯讀記憶體的意思，希望每個演出都能帶給觀眾難忘體驗。 有主音Patrick（鄺柏廉），鍵盤/
       小提琴Janet（翁瑋盈），鍵盤 Alan（黃艾倫）及填詞人 Yito（郭薾多）。

       2005年開始公開演出，除了ROM自家原創，也演唱 Janet / Alan寫給流行歌手們的歌曲。  他們亦為不同媒體創作音
       樂，如電影 "公主復仇記" / "AV" 等... ; 舞台劇 "再見不再見" / "29+1" / "萬世歌王" 等...；用了一年籌備及整頓，
      將於2008夏天推出首張專輯。

      ROM inspired by London Bomb Attack in July, 2005 and releases their debut song “London is falling down”. ‘ROM’
      stands for a class of storage used in computer – Room-Only Memory, which they hope their every show will be
      an unforgettable one. With lead vocals Patrick, keyboard player and violinist Janet, keyboard player Alan and lyricist
      Yito, ROM starts performing in 2005. Other than their own songs, they also perform pop songs that are written for other
      singers by Alan and Janet. Their music appear in movies like “Beyond Our Ken” and “AV” and stage plays like “Good-
      bye but goodbye”, “29+1” and “Singsingking”. After a year of preparation, their debut album will be released this
       summer.

September 九月 - A-dAY + RedNoon + Mr.

       A-dAY, 由主音Angus及結他手Day組成，音樂風格清新。去年憑《寫真》一曲奪得第十九屆CASH流行曲創作大賽冠
         軍，2008年簽約框格音樂事務公司。最近A-dAY更首次踏足紅館舞台，為「盧冠廷2050演唱會」重新編曲及獻唱盧冠
         廷的《我未能忘掉你》搖滾版本，贏得了觀眾的熱情歡呼聲。

     RedNoon， 四人樂隊。成立於2000年。紅色代表力量，中午是一天最熾熱的時刻，因而取名。立志成為香港音樂史
      上其中一隊最好的樂隊。2002年於台灣參與由港、台、中、日、法、美等國家之樂隊合作推出Summer High合輯。
      2007年歌曲《死蠢》派台，好評不絕。

      “Mr.” (Mister)的前身是獨立樂隊“>White Noise”。 由於音樂的認受性乃建基於大眾對樂手本身的印象，因此我們
         決定改名為“Mr.”。 Mr. 的真正意思是指 ‘平凡人’。 五人都是由基層出身，從平凡的五個人到置身音樂圈成為樂
         隊， 以‘平常心’去面對以後的喜、怒、哀、樂將會是五個平凡人，在不平凡的事業路途上所持的態度。

      Formed by lead vocals Angus and guitarist Day, A-day’s music is refreshing. Last year, A-day won the champion in
     CASH 2007 with their song “Snapshot”. In 2008, A-day signs Honger Music Venture Ltd and is the guest performer in
     Lowell, Lo Kun Ting’s concert. Their interpretation for Lo’s song, <I can’t forget you> has won over the audiences.

     RedNoon is a four-men band, starts in 2000 and determines to be one of the best band in Hong Kong. Their band
      name, “RedNoon” represents power and the hottest moment. They have released a complication in Taiwan with
      other bands all over the world in 2002 and their song, <Dumb Ass> in 2007 also receives good reviews.

      “Mr” is the former indie band “White Noise”. They named it “Mr” because they think that how people accept the
         musicians based on their impression towards them. The meaning of “Mr” is ordinary people. All of the band
         members are from ordinary household; they face all the ups and downs with causal attitude and hopes that this
         attitude will help them go on this extraordinary pathway.

      三人樂隊架構下再多添置一名電腦操作員的slept in spray. 從來沒有特定/肯定的音樂類型, 只迷信電腦科技與結他噪
        音。 在僅有的樂理認知裡， 憑著各人腦海裏的零碎感覺去併砌一堆聲音碎片，再與即興段落仔細縫合，企圖透過
        聲響處理，塑造出具象感覺與立體影像。或許跟電影配樂相類, 即使放棄語言也能把情感具體表現。那是我們所渴望
        擁有的過程, 甚至作品可能只是白噪音也都不重要. 只要有一個人能察覺或理解已很高興。

       樂隊曾為英國Post-Rock 樂團Yndi Halda巡演作開場演出，並在四月應邀出演上海首場後搖滾音樂展 - [ 氤氲下江南]

      Slept in spray is a young musician collective since 2006. They do not have any typical musical styles, but only believe
      in computer technology & guitar noise. With only a little knowledge of music theory, they use bits and pieces from
      their minds to pile up the sound scraps, and after careful stitching and sewing, they improvise. They believe that
      through the sound processing, it will sculpt out the real visual image, just like the movie soundtrack, which can stand
      out even the movie lost the script. This is what they have craved for. It is not important their music is merely white
      noise, Slept in Spray will be glad if anyone catches and understands.

      Slept In Spray were the supporting artist of the British post-rock band Yndi Halda in 2007. And in April 2008, they
      were also the guest performer of 'Chinese Post-Rock Debut' in Shanghai. Debut single [ Albiero ] was released in
      April 08.

        香港爵士新秀Ginger Kwan的歌聲總帶點點靈騷怨曲, 她那攝人的靈騷音樂技巧無人能及, 充沛的精力令這位炙手可熱

     Ginger Kwan is a rising young star in the HK jazz scene with a spice of soul and R&B in her versatile repertoire. Her
     ultra dynamic and scintillatingly soulful style is incomparable. Ginger is an in-demand studio session singer whose
     distinctive
     energy adds magic to any project, along with a vast array of colours. Multi-ethnic Kwan has absorbed a host of exiting
     musical influences and brings an unmistakable presence and vitality to every show, which highlights her natural
     sensual, emotional & exciting persona. After a 3-month hiatus, Henry Chung returns to the live music scene with a
     vengeance. Inthe last 3 months, Chung appeared alongside Lowell Lo in his comeback concert at the HK Coliseum and
     recorded hit songs for Andy Lau, Anthony Wong and at17. In addition, his radio programme 'Jazzing Up' on RTHK 4 has
     also been popular amongst jazz aficionados. 
 
     For this show, Chung teams up with Kwan for an exciting crossover between jazz and blues, traditional and modern,
     old-fashioned and hip. Rounding up the lineup we have guitar sensation Dan LaVelle and double bassist Mike Carr. This
     is a must-see event for all jazz & blues lovers out there.

kubrick Friday Live 放暑假

零七年八月至今年五月尾, 我們共邀請了25隊獨立樂隊及歌手, 在星期五晚上的油麻地kubrick書店給了大家一個個愉快的晚上。書店的空間雖然狹小; 隔音設備不足也曾令我們退卻, 暫停了數個晚上的演出, 我們心中卻更堅定 -- 繼續舉行kubrick Friday live! 只要多一個場地給有興趣發表自己創作的表演者, 我們相信香港將會更有趣多變。 不過, kubrick Friday live要先跟各位暫別一下,六月及七月將不會有kubrick Friday live, 因為kubrick忙著為一年一度的香港書展做好準備, 但是, 我們會在八月份重新起步, 再為大家帶來好聽好看的演出。而第五期的kubrick Friday live宣傳單張及訂票資料也會在書展期間發佈的, 大家要密切留意囉! Kubrick希望多一點不同的東西在香港生存紮根, 那怕是微不足道。 所以, 我們邀請 您 參加 kubrick Friday live, 大家如果有興趣將自己努力的成果公告天下, 希望多點同道人知道 您的創作, 我們願意提供一個小小的表演場地, 讓各位可以分享 您的果實。我們也歡迎海外朋友路經香港時到我們書店演出您們的創作。不論音樂形式, 只要是好音樂, 我們也會給您一個星期五的晚上。 請將 您的創作demo連同個人資料透過電郵或郵寄方法傳給我們, 我們稍作甄選後便會聯絡您的。 During July 2007 to May this year, kubrick have invited 25 indie music groups and musicians on Friday nights to share wonderful music with the audiences in Yau Ma Tei. Though we are lack of space; and the inadequate soundproof system has put us on hold which we have suspended a few show, but we are more determined then - to continue kubrick Friday live. We believe that with one more venue for musicians who are interested in presenting their works, Hong Kong will be even more interesting. We are sorry to say that kubrick Friday live has to take a short break. We will not have any shows in June or July, as all of us have to prepare for the annual Hong Kong Bookfair. But we will be ready to roll again in August and brings you better live music. Our kubrick Friday live season 5 leaflets and the ticketing information will be released during Hong Kong Bookfair, so everyone stay tune! Kubrick hopes that more elements, even petite, will be able to root and survive in Hong Kong, so we would like to invite you to join kubrick Friday live. kubrick Friday Live得大家的支持及音樂人的落力演出，漸見成績。然而，當我們在享受音樂所帶來的快樂時，由於隔音設備不足，很多 在隔鄰電影中心看電影的朋友卻因著音樂會所傳出的聲浪叫苦! 我們也曾經呼籲音樂人和樂隊盡可能把音量收細，以不插電的方式繼續表演 ，但是效果仍未如理想，星期五晚上電影中心某些影院還是會感受到kubrick Friday Live傳來的震盪。kubrick是支持本地音樂創作的其中 一份子，所以我們極不願意限制音樂人的創意發揮，而且這也是樂迷不願意見到的。因此，為了同時顧及觀賞音樂和電影的朋友，我們決 定把kubrick Friday Live 的開始時間由晚上十時延至十一時。希望各位體諒。對於這個安排所帶來的不便，我們深表歉意! 我們會努力把kubrick Friday Live搞得更好，希望各位朋友繼續支持!

Thanks to your support and the devoted performances of the musicians, kubrick Friday Live is growing up. Yet, when we are enjoying the music, those who watched movies in Broadway Cinematheque have suffered from our music because we do not have enough soundproof system. In fact, we have asked our performers to try to lower their voices and play unplugged. However, the situation is still not satisfied and some of the houses could feel the vibration coming from kubrick Friday Live. As one of the supporters for local indie music scene, it is not our wish to bar the creativity of the musicians, and either is the audience. For the sake of those who enjoy kFL music and those who come for the movies, we now decide to postpone our starting time of kubrick Friday Live from 10 pm to 11pm. Please take note of this arrangement. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. We will try our best, and hope that you will continue to support us!

May 五月 - Lakeside Session

     Lakeside Session : 四人組合第一次以這個形式表演, Vincent Lam 是香港藍調樂隊先鋒Helter Skelter八年來的主吉他手和主
    唱, 沙啞的聲線與低撫結他的技巧在在令男仕汗流如注、女仕尖聲狂呼;Larry Z 則是型格典範 -- 獨立搖滾樂隊Roland的領軍及
    結他手,這幾年來他的過人魅力一直吸引著香港地下音樂迷;而2006年9月回流香港的Henry Chung迅即成為香港藍調音樂的焦點人
    物, 南華早報許之與Eric Clapton的表演為2007年最佳表演之一 ;香港首席藍調低音結他手Koya Hisakazu是Mark-1音樂中心的骨幹,
    為中心主辦的Listen Up!這個音樂表演系列作主力, 亦是Helter Skelter Very Ape Speed King的重要成員。這次表演, Koya將牛刀
    小試,使出他的敲擊技倆。 當晚, 這四位樂手將以早期美國密西西比的藍調音樂原汁原味帶給各位 。如果你們反應熱烈的話,
    Vince或許會表演 'Wonderful Tonight'這首歌呢!

     Lakeside Session : This is the first time the quartet performs on stage in this format. Vincent Lam is the lead guitarist
    and vocalist for the band Helter Skelter which has been on HK's blues forefront for the past 8 years. Vincent's so-
    aring vocals and slow-hand guitar skills will surely make guys sweat and make girls scream.Larry Z is the ultimate
    symbol of cool. Bandleader and guitarist of the indie-rock band Reload, Larry has captured the HK underground
    scene with his charismatic charm in the past few years. Since his return to HK in September 2006, Henry Chung has
    become the focal point and a fixture of the HK blues scene. SCMP rated Chung 'one of the best performances
    in 2007' alongside Eric Clapton. Koya Hisakazu is the premiere blues bassist in HK. Being backbone of Mark-1 music, Koya
    san is a major contributor of Listen Up! music series in addition to being an essential member of the bands such as
    Helter Skelter, Very Ape, & Speed King. For this show, Koya will showcase his percussion skills. The four will perform
    classic delta blues tunes and original compositions. And if you get Vince in the right mood, he may even do 'Wonderful Tonight.'
